One of the questions that I get asked often, is “What outfits should I bring for baby’s first photoshoot?” or “What should I dress baby in for their newborn photos?”.
The answer is – nothing! You don’t have to worry about a thing for your newborn baby!!! This is one of the fabulous things about using a professional newborn photographer! We are here to organise all of that for you and to make your life easier!
Our studio is full of wraps, bonnets and newborn outfits for your photoshoot. The textures, designs and colours of these items all form part of our style.
As part of the Vanilla Images, signature natural style our newborn photography outfit selection includes a lot of hand knitted items made from beautiful fibres such as mohair and alpaca wool, and soft jerseys and linens.
Our main colour palettes that we use for your photoshoot are neutrals, pastel colours and earthy tones.
This means that you have the choice, to have your session styled completely neutrally, completely full of colour or in a combination of both neutral and colour.
I personally love a mostly neutral colour scheme with small amounts of colour threaded through. Sometimes a small colour pop created big impact in an image!
During your pre-session planning, I will ask you about the colours that you love and the colours that are in your home, so that we can incorporate those choices into your newborn outfits and backdrops for your photoshoot. This will give me an idea of your personal likes and dislikes, so that I can keep all of my styling choices during your session with your preferences in mind.
