Your newborn photography session.
Newborn photography sessions are held in the comfort of our Melbourne Newborn Photography Studio in Kew. You’ll love our tasteful, natural photos, and the newborn period is such an amazing time to capture the miracle of your new child.
Our photoshoot sessions run for 2-4 hours and are completely baby led, so there is plenty of time for feeding and cuddles. They are a mix of baby by themselves and family photos.
Can I combine a maternity photography Session with my newborn photography?
Yes! Combining a maternity photography session with your Melbourne newborn photography is a very popular option. It tells the story of the new life that you are bringing into the world.
Our maternity sessions are very relaxed, and focus on the story of your family pre-newborn baby, so as partners and older siblings are included.
I missed booking and my baby is older than 2 weeks! Can I still do newborn baby photos?
Don’t worry, your baby can still be photographed after this initial newborn time period.
They are only small for such a short amount of time that any chance to create memories of your baby is precious.
Depending on how many weeks they were born at and their general temperament, your baby may still be able to do sleepy, curly poses.

How old should my baby be for our session?
Newborn Photography sessions are best taken in your baby’s first 6 – 12 days, when they’re still sleepy and happy to curl up. It is an amazing time to capture the miracle of your new child.
When to book your newborn photography session.
The initial time with your newborn passes so very quickly, so it’s important to get in early! Please contact us as soon as possible, preferably while you’re pregnant to book in an estimated due date.
What do I bring to my newborn photography session?
Not a lot! as we provide everything for your newborn baby during your session (ie props, outfits, wraps and backdrops).
The only thing you need to think about is something for you, your partner and any older siblings to wear for your family photos.
What if I need a longer hospital stay?
Should your baby require a longer hospital stay than normal, we just get you to keep in touch, and aim to photograph your newborn photography session the week that baby comes home.
How many weeks your baby is born at and the length of their hospital stay determines whether we do curly newborn poses or a more wrapped and awake older baby session.
They grow up so fast!
Babies grow at an alarming rate. That’s why capturing how tiny, beautiful and precious your newborn is just after birth is so important.
Everything from tiny fingers and toes, cute eyelashes and pouty little lips can be held onto to keep forever with newborn photography.
